Kuta is a tourism center in Bali. It is filled with tourists hailing from all over the world, enjoying the Island of Gods. The majority of the citizens residing in Bali are the ones who work on the tourism sector. Many of them are art and souvenir vendors, targeting tourists who are on vacation in Bali. For example, along the coast of Kuta Beach. Some of Balinese people have gotten into the business of tour guide. Some are successful, some are working hard to get to the top. For instance, Gung Rai and the owner of Ubud Museum. They both started off as souvenir vendors along the coast of Kuta Beach. They are both now successful, and one of them owns a museum. The development of tourism in Bali has decreased the number of local vendors. We can barely encounter them on the beach. It looks like the vendors in Bali are switching to different roles. It seems that the vendor profession is no longer classy. Ever since the pandemic hit, many of those who are are on the tourism sector have lost their livelihood. Bali was extremely quiet like a ghost town. Many local people were starting to become vendors targeting local people due to the scarce tourists.
