My name’s Linkan Palenewen. I’m a Bali-based artist from Jakarta. Living in Bali since 2011 has been amazing and inspiring. I enjoy living in Ubud. It’s tranquil here. My sanctuary is surrounded by nature with good natural lighting. Nature helps me gain inspiration easily. 

My painting journey began when I had just started fashion school. In fashion school, I broadened my knowledge of figures and paintings. It came naturally to me that I picked painting as my hobby. Over the years, I’ve become more serious about painting. I’ve also developed my style and genre by focusing on making contemporary portraits and figuratives. I am a self-taught artist who is interested in painting portraits. I develop my skills by being inspired by other artists. Many incredible artists in this universe are progressive and inspiring. For example, I’ve been influenced by these fantastic artists: Gustav Klimt, Jen Mann, Martine Johanna, and Henri Matisse.
